English Translation
Ahmad bin Ali bin Al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Mu'adh bin Hisham narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me from Qatadah from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) fell from his horse and his right side was scratched. We went to visit him, and the time for prayer came. He prayed with us while sitting, and we prayed behind him while sitting. When he finished, he said: "The imam is appointed only to be followed. When he says the takbir, say the takbir, and when he bows, bow, and when he says: 'Allah hears whoever praises Him,' say: 'O Allah, our Lord, to You is the praise,' and when he prostrates, prostrate, and if he prays sitting, pray sitting all of you."
