أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ زَنْجُوَيْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ لَمَّا افْتَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ عِلَاطٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي بِمَكَّةَ مَالًا وَإِنَّ لِي بِهَا أَهْلًا وَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ آتِيَهُمْ فَأَنَا فِي حَلٍّ إِنْ أَنَا نِلْتُ مِنْكَ أَوْ قُلْتُ شَيْئًا «فَأَذِنَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَقُولَ مَا شَاءَ» قَالَ فَأَتَى امْرَأَتَهُ حِينَ قَدِمَ فَقَالَ اجْمَعِي لِي مَا كَانَ عِنْدَكَ فَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشْتَرِيَ مِنْ غَنَائِمِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابِهِ فَإِنَّهُمْ قَدِ اسْتُبِيحُوا وَأُصِيبَتْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ قَالَ وَفَشَا ذَلِكَ بِمَكَّةَ فَأَوْجَعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَظْهَرَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ فَرَحًا وَسُرُورًا وَبَلَغَ الْخَبَرُ الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَعَقَرَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ وَجَعَلَ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَقُومَ قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ فَأَخْبَرَنِي الْجَزَرِيُّ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ الْعَبَّاسُ ابْنًا لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ قُثَمٌ وَكَانَ يُشْبِهُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَاسْتَلْقَى فَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى صَدْرِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ
English Translation
Ahmad bin Ali bin Al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Muhammad bin Abdul-Malik bin Zanjawayh narrated to us, saying: Abdul-Razzaq narrated to us, saying: Ma'mar informed us from Thabit from Anas bin Malik, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) conquered Khaybar, Al-Hajjaj bin Ilat said: O Messenger of Allah, I have wealth in Makkah and I have family there, and I want to go to them. Am I permitted if I disparage you or say something? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) permitted him to say what he wished. He said: So he came to his wife when he arrived and said: Gather for me what you have, for I want to buy from the spoils of Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions, for they have been defeated and their wealth has been taken. He said: And this spread in Makkah and grieved the Muslims, while the polytheists showed joy and happiness. The news reached Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib, and he collapsed in his gathering and could not stand up. Ma'mar said: Al-Jazari informed me from Miqsam, who said: Abbas took a son of his called Qutham, who resembled the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he lay down and placed him on his chest while he was saying...
