أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ النَّذْرِ»
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade shighar. Shighar is when a man gives his daughter in marriage to another man on the condition that the other gives his daughter to him in marriage, without either of them paying a mahr to the other.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبد اللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے شغار سے منع فرمایا۔ شغار یہ ہے کہ ایک آدمی اپنی بیٹی کا نکاح دوسرے شخص سے اس شرط پر کرے کہ وہ بھی اپنی بیٹی کا نکاح اس سے کر دے اور دونوں میں سے کوئی دوسرے کو مہر نہ دے۔
