أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عُوَيْمِرَ الْعَجْلَانِيَّ جَاءَ إِلَى عَاصِمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا عَاصِمُ أَرَأَيْتَ لَوَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا وَجَدَ مَعَ امْرَأَتِهِ رَجُلًا أَيَقْتُلُهُ فَتَقْتُلُونَهُ أَمْ كَيْفَ يَفْعَلُ؟ سَلْ لِي يَا عَاصِمُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَسَأَلَ عَاصِمُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَكَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ تِلْكَ الْمَسَائِلَ وَعَابَهَا حَتَّى كَبُرَ عَلَى عَاصِمٍ مَا سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ عَاصِمٌ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ جَاءَهُ عُوَيْمِرٌ فَقَالَ يَا عَاصِمُ مَاذَا قَالَ لَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ عَاصِمٌ لِعُوَيْمِرٍ لَمْ تَأْتِنِي بِخَيْرٍ قَدْ كَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمَسْأَلَةَ الَّتِي سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ وَاللَّهِ لَا أَنْتَهِي حَتَّى أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْهَا فَجَاءَ عُوَيْمِرٌ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَسَطَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أُنْزِلَ فِيكَ وَفِي صَاحِبَتِكَ فَاذْهَبْ فَأْتِ بِهَا» فَقَالَ سَهْلٌ فَتَلَاعَنَا وَأَنَا مَعَ النَّاسِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَا مِنْ تَلَاعُنِهِمَا قَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ كَذَبْتُ عَلَيْهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَمْسَكْتُهَا فَطَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْمُرُهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ
English Translation
Hadrat Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that Uwaymir al-Ajlani came to Asim ibn Adi al-Ansari and said to him: "O Asim, what if a man finds another man with his wife — should he kill him and you execute him, or what should he do? Ask the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) about this for me." So Asim asked the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) disliked those questions and censured them, until it became difficult for Asim to hear what he heard from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). When Asim returned to his family, Uwaymir came to him and said: "O Asim, what did the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say to you?" Asim said to Uwaymir: "You did not bring me anything good. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) disliked the question you asked me about." Uwaymir said: "By Allah, I will not stop until I ask him about it." So Uwaymir came while the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was amidst the people. He said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "A ruling has been revealed regarding you and your wife. Go and bring her." Sahl said: They performed li'an while I was among the people before the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). When they finished their li'an, Uwaymir said: "I would have lied about her, O Messenger of Allah, if I keep her." So he divorced her three times before the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commanded him (to do so).
Urdu Translation
حضرت سہل بن سعد ساعدی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ عویمر عجلانی عاصم بن عدی انصاری کے پاس آئے اور کہا: اے عاصم! اگر کسی شخص نے اپنی بیوی کے ساتھ کوئی مرد پایا تو کیا وہ اسے قتل کرے اور تم اسے قتل کرو، یا کیا کرے؟ میری طرف سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے پوچھو۔ عاصم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے پوچھا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان سوالات کو ناپسند فرمایا اور عیب لگایا، حتیٰ کہ عاصم پر بوجھ ہو گیا جو انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے سنا۔ جب عاصم اپنے گھر لوٹے تو عویمر ان کے پاس آئے اور کہا: اے عاصم! رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے تم سے کیا فرمایا؟ عاصم نے عویمر سے کہا: تم نے مجھے کوئی اچھی بات نہیں لائی، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس سوال کو ناپسند فرمایا جو تم نے مجھ سے پوچھوایا۔ عویمر نے کہا: اللہ کی قسم! میں نہیں رکوں گا جب تک خود ان سے نہ پوچھ لوں۔ عویمر آئے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم لوگوں کے درمیان تھے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تمہارے اور تمہاری بیوی کے بارے میں حکم نازل ہو گیا ہے، جاؤ اور اسے لے آؤ۔ سہل نے کہا: دونوں نے لعان کیا اور میں لوگوں کے ساتھ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے سامنے موجود تھا۔ جب لعان سے فارغ ہوئے تو عویمر نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! اگر میں اسے رکھوں تو میں نے اس پر جھوٹ بولا ہے۔ تو اس نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے حکم سے پہلے ہی تین طلاقیں دے دیں۔
