أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ وَادٍ آخَرُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ فَاهَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَاللَّهُ يَتُوبُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'If the son of Adam had a valley of gold, he would love to have another valley. And nothing fills his mouth except dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: 'اگر ابن آدم کے پاس سونے کی ایک وادی ہو تو وہ چاہے گا کہ اس کے پاس ایک اور وادی ہو۔ اور اس کا منہ مٹی کے سوا کچھ نہیں بھرتا۔ اور اللہ اس کی توبہ قبول فرماتا ہے جو توبہ کرے۔'
