أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لَمَّا كَانَ مَرَضُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَكَرَ بَعْضُ نِسَائِهِ كَنِيسَةً رَأَيَاهَا بِأَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ سَلَم��ةَ وَأُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ قَدْ أَتَتَا أَرْضَ الْحَبَشَةِ فَذَكَرْنَ كَنِيسَةً رَأَيْنَهَا بِأَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ يُقَالُ لَهَا مَارِيَةُ وَذَكَرْنَ مِنْ حُسْنِهَا وَتَصَاوِيرَ فِيهَا فَرَفَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ أُولَئِكَ إِذَا مَاتَ مِنْهُمُ الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ بَنَوْا عَلَى قَبْرِهِ مَسْجِدًا ثُمَّ صَوَّرُوا فِيهِ تِلْكَ الصُّوَرَ وَأُولَئِكَ شِرَارُ الْخَلْقِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى»
English Translation
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha (may Allah be well pleased with her) who said: During the illness of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), some of his wives mentioned a church they had seen in the land of Abyssinia. Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Umm Salama and Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Umm Habiba (may Allah be well pleased with them) had been to the land of Abyssinia, and they mentioned a church called Mariya and described its beauty and the images in it. The Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) raised his head and stated: 'Those people, when a righteous man among them died, they would build a place of worship over his grave and then make those images in it. Those are the worst of creation in the sight of Allah, the Exalted.'
Urdu Translation
اُمّ المؤمنین حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بیماری کے دوران آپ کی بعض ازواج نے ایک گرجا گھر کا ذکر کیا جو انہوں نے حبشہ میں دیکھا تھا۔ اُمّ المؤمنین حضرت اُمّ سلمہ اور اُمّ المؤمنین حضرت اُمّ حبیبہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما حبشہ گئی تھیں۔ انہوں نے ایک گرجا گھر کا ذکر کیا جس کا نام ماریہ تھا اور اس کی خوبصورتی اور اس میں موجود تصویروں کا ذکر کیا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اپنا سر مبارک اٹھایا اور ارشاد فرمایا: 'ان لوگوں میں جب کوئی نیک آدمی مر جاتا تو وہ اس کی قبر پر مسجد بناتے اور پھر اس میں وہ تصویریں بناتے۔ یہ لوگ اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک بدترین مخلوق ہیں۔'
