أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ جُلُوسًا فَانْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَزِعًا يَجُرُّ ثَوْبَهُ حَتَّى دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يُصَلِّيهَا حَتَّى انْجَلَتْ وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ عِنْدَ مَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ابْنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَادْعُوا حَتَّى يَكْشِفَ مَا بِكُمْ»
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Bakrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: We were sitting with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) when the sun eclipsed. So the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stood up in alarm, dragging his garment, until he entered the mosque and prayed two units. He continued praying them until it cleared. This occurred at the time of the death of Ibrahim, the son of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). The people said: 'The sun has eclipsed only because of the death of Ibrahim.' So the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «O people, indeed the sun and the moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death of anyone. So when you see that, supplicate until what is with you is removed.»
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس بیٹھے تھے کہ سورج کو گرہن لگا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم گھبراہٹ میں کھڑے ہوئے اور اپنا کپڑا گھسیٹتے ہوئے مسجد میں داخل ہوئے اور دو رکعتیں پڑھیں۔ آپ انہیں پڑھتے رہے یہاں تک کہ گرہن صاف ہو گیا۔ یہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے بیٹے ابراہیم کی وفات کے وقت ہوا۔ لوگوں نے کہا: 'سورج کو گرہن صرف ابراہیم کی وفات کی وجہ سے لگا ہے۔' تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «اے لوگو! بے شک سورج اور چاند اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے دو نشانیاں ہیں۔ یہ کسی کی موت کے لیے نہیں گرہن ہوتے۔ پس جب تم یہ دیکھو تو دعا کرو یہاں تک کہ جو تمہارے ساتھ ہے وہ دور ہو جائے۔»
