أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَرْبَعٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ كَانَ مُنَافِقًا خَالِصًا وَمَنْ كَانَتْ فِيهِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنْهَا كَانَتْ فِيهِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنَ النِّفَاقِ حَتَّى يَدَعَهَا إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ وَإِذَا عَاهَدَ غَدَرَ وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ وَإِذَا خَاصَمَ فَجَرَ»
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Four traits — whoever has all of them is a complete hypocrite, and whoever has one of them has a trait of hypocrisy until he abandons it: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a covenant, he betrays; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he quarrels, he transgresses."
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «چار خصلتیں ہیں — جس میں یہ سب ہوں وہ خالص منافق ہے، اور جس میں ان میں سے ایک ہو تو اس میں نفاق کی ایک خصلت ہے جب تک اسے چھوڑ نہ دے: جب بات کرے تو جھوٹ بولے، جب عہد کرے تو دغا دے، جب وعدہ کرے تو توڑ دے، اور جب جھگڑا کرے تو بدکاری پر اتر آئے۔»
