أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَوْدُودٍ بِحَرَّانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَإِذَا النَّاسُ رَافِعُو أَيْدِيهِمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ «مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيكُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ؟ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon us when people were raising their hands in prayer, so he said: 'What is the matter with me that I see you raising your hands as if they were tails of wild horses? Be still in prayer.'
