أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَرَأَ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الظُّهْرِ أَوِ الْعَصْرِ فَقَالَ «أَيُّكُمْ قَرَأَ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى؟ » فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ أَنَا فَقَالَ «قَدْ عَرَفْتُ أَنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ خَالَجَنِيهَا»
English Translation
'Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a man recited behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Zuhr or Asr prayer, and he said: 'Which of you recited: Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High?' A man from the congregation said, 'I did.' He said: 'I knew that one of you was contending with me in it.'
