Hadrat Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) state: "Gog and Magog shall be released and they shall swarm upon the people, as Allah the Exalted said: 'from every elevation they descend.' They shall cause havoc on the earth, and the Muslims shall retreat to their cities and fortresses, gathering their livestock with them. They shall drink all the water of the earth, until some of them shall pass by a river and drink everything in it, leaving it dry, and those who come after them shall pass by that same river and say: 'There was once water here.' When no person remains except that he has taken refuge in a fortress or a city, one of them shall say: 'We have finished with the people of the earth; only the people of the heavens remain.' Then one of them shall shake his spear and hurl it toward the sky, and it shall return stained with blood — as a trial and tribulation. While they are in that state, Allah shall send upon them worms in their necks, like the naghaf (parasitic worms), which shall emerge from their necks, and they shall all die — not a sound shall be heard from them. The Muslims shall say: 'Is there not a man who will risk his life for us to see what this enemy has done?' Then a man among them shall volunteer, having resigned himself to death. He shall go down and find them dead, piled upon one another. He shall call out: 'O assembly of Muslims, rejoice! For Allah has spared you from your enemy!' They shall emerge from their cities and fortresses and release their livestock, which shall find no pasture except their flesh, and the livestock shall grow fat from it as though they had eaten the finest vegetation." This is a hadith whose chain of transmission is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, though they (al-Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو ارشاد فرماتے ہوئے سنا: «یاجوج و ماجوج کھول دیے جائیں گے اور لوگوں پر نکل آئیں گے جیسا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا: ﴿ہر بلندی سے وہ دوڑتے ہوئے آئیں گے﴾۔ وہ زمین میں فساد مچائیں گے اور مسلمان اپنے شہروں اور قلعوں میں پناہ لیں گے اور اپنے مویشی اپنے ساتھ سمیٹ لیں گے۔ وہ زمین کا سارا پانی پی جائیں گے، یہاں تک کہ ان میں سے کچھ لوگ کسی نہر سے گزریں گے اور اسے خشک کر دیں گے، پھر ان کے بعد آنے والے اس نہر سے گزریں گے اور کہیں گے: یہاں کبھی پانی ہوا کرتا تھا۔ جب زمین پر کوئی شخص باقی نہ رہے سوائے اس کے جو کسی قلعے یا شہر میں پناہ لے چکا ہو، تو ان میں سے ایک کہنے والا کہے گا: ہم زمین والوں سے فارغ ہو گئے، اب آسمان والے باقی ہیں۔ پھر ان میں سے ایک اپنا نیزہ ہلائے گا اور آسمان کی طرف پھینکے گا، وہ خون میں رنگا ہوا واپس آئے گا — آزمائش اور فتنے کے طور پر۔ جب وہ اسی حال میں ہوں گے تو اللہ تعالیٰ ان کی گردنوں میں کیڑے بھیجے گا جیسے ناک کے کیڑے، جو ان کی گردنوں سے نکلیں گے اور وہ سب مر جائیں گے — ان کی کوئی آواز نہ سنائی دے گی۔ مسلمان کہیں گے: کیا کوئی شخص ہے جو ہمارے لیے اپنی جان خطرے میں ڈال کر دیکھے کہ اس دشمن کا کیا ہوا؟ پھر ان میں سے ایک شخص اس کے لیے تیار ہو گا، اپنی جان کا سودا کر کے، یہ سمجھتے ہوئے کہ وہ مارا جائے گا۔ وہ نکلے گا اور انہیں مردہ پائے گا، ایک دوسرے پر گرے ہوئے۔ وہ پکارے گا: اے مسلمانو! خوش ہو جاؤ، اللہ نے تمہارے دشمن سے تمہیں بچا لیا! وہ اپنے شہروں اور قلعوں سے نکلیں گے اور اپنے مویشی چھوڑ دیں گے، جنہیں ان کے گوشت کے سوا کوئی چارہ نہ ملے گا، لیکن وہ اس سے اتنے فربہ ہوں گے جتنے کسی بھی سبزے سے نہ ہوئے ہوں گے۔» یہ حدیث مسلم کی شرط پر صحیح ہے مگر انہوں نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔
