أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ الْجَلَّابُ بِهَمْدَانَ ثَنَا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ هِلَالَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ قَذَفَ امْرَأَتَهُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِشَرِيكِ بْنِ سَمْحَاءَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْبَيِّنَةُ أَوْ حَدٌّ فِي ظَهْرِكَ»
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that Hilal ibn Umayyah accused his wife in the presence of the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) of (adultery with) Sharik ibn Sahma. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Bring evidence or there will be a prescribed punishment on your back." So the verse of li'an (mutual cursing) was revealed.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ ہلال بن امیہ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے سامنے اپنی بیوی پر شریک بن سحماء کے ساتھ (زنا کی) تہمت لگائی۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "گواہ لاؤ ورنہ تمہاری پیٹھ پر حد لگے گی۔" پھر لعان کی آیت نازل ہوئی۔
