حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْإِمَامِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُعَيْمٍ قَالَا ثَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ ثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ لَا يَحْنَثُ حَتَّى أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى كَفَّارَةَ الْيَمِينِ فَقَالَ «لَا أَحْلِفُ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَأَرَى غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا إِلَّا كَفَّرْتُ عَنْ يَمِينٍ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم
English Translation
Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrated: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), whenever he swore an oath, would not break it — until Allah, the Exalted, revealed the expiation of oaths. He then stated: "I shall not swear an oath and then see something better than it except that I expiate for my oath and then do that which is better." This is a hadith whose chain of transmission is authentic according to the condition of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhari and Muslim], though neither recorded it. According to the condition of al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Urdu Translation
اُمّ المؤمنین حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب قسم کھاتے تو اسے نہیں توڑتے تھے — یہاں تک کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے قسم کا کفارہ نازل فرمایا۔ تب آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «میں قسم نہیں کھاتا پھر اس سے بہتر دیکھتا ہوں مگر یہ کہ میں اپنی قسم کا کفارہ دیتا ہوں پھر وہ بہتر کام کرتا ہوں۔» یہ حدیث شیخین کی شرط پر صحیح ہے مگر انہوں نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔ بخاری و مسلم کی شرط پر۔
