Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا ثَنَا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ قَالَ «ثَوْبَانُ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَصْلُهُ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ أَصَابَهُ سَبْيٌ فَمَنَّ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَاتَ بِحِمْصَ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ»
English Translation
Khalifa ibn Khayyat narrated: 'Hadrat Thawban (may Allah be well pleased with him), the freed slave of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), was originally from Yemen. He had been captured, and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) bestowed his freedom upon him. His kunya was Abu Abdullah. He died in Hims in the year 54 AH.'
Urdu Translation
خلیفہ بن خیاط نے بیان کیا: 'حضرت ثوبان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے آزاد کردہ غلام تھے، ان کا اصل یمن سے تھا۔ وہ قید میں آئے تھے اور حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں آزاد فرمایا۔ ان کی کنیت ابو عبد اللہ تھی۔ ان کی وفات حمص میں سنہ 54 ہجری میں ہوئی۔'
