حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى الْحِيرِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ثنا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ حِينَ فَرَضَ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ وَكَانَ لَا يُخْرَجُ إِلَّا التَّمْرُ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ فِيهِ «إِلَّا التَّمْرَ»
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated: I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say, when he prescribed the zakat al-fitr: "A sa' of dates or a sa' of barley." And nothing other than dates used to be given [as the main commodity]. This is an authentic hadith.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے: مَیں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو صدقۃ الفطر فرض کرتے وقت فرماتے سنا: «ایک صاع کھجور یا ایک صاع جَو۔» اور کھجور کے سوا کچھ نہیں دیا جاتا تھا [بطورِ اصل]۔ یہ حدیث صحیح ہے۔
