فَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْهَجَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْأَيْدِي ثَلَاثَةٌ يَدُ اللَّهِ الْعُلْيَا وَيَدُ الْمُعْطِي الَّتِي تَلِيهَا وَيَدُ السَّائِلِ السُّفْلَى إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَاسْتَعِفَّ عَنِ السُّؤَالِ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah [ibn Mas'ud] (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Hands are of three kinds: the hand of Allah is the uppermost, the hand of the giver comes next, and the hand of the beggar is the lowest, until the Day of Resurrection. So seek to be chaste and refrain from begging as long as you are able."
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبد اللہ [بن مسعود] رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «ہاتھ تین قسم کے ہیں: اللہ کا ہاتھ سب سے اوپر ہے، دینے والے کا ہاتھ اس کے بعد ہے، اور مانگنے والے کا ہاتھ سب سے نیچے ہے، قیامت کے دن تک۔ پس عفت اختیار کرو اور جب تک تم سے ہو سکے مانگنے سے بچو۔»
