حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ثنا قُطْبَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَجْمَرْتُمُ الْمَيِّتَ فَأَوْتِرُوا» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ
English Translation
Hadrat Jabir (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "When you perfume the deceased with incense, do it an odd number of times." This is an authentic hadith meeting the criteria of al-Bukhari and Muslim, though they did not narrate it.
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «جب میت کو دھونی دو تو طاق بار دو۔» یہ حدیث صحیح ہے شیخین کی شرط پر مگر انہوں نے اسے نہیں نکالا۔
