حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَاذَانَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا أَبِي ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا قَزَعَةُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا حَضَرْتُمُ الْمَيِّتَ فَغَمِّضُوا الْبَصَرَ فَإِنَّ الْبَصَرَ يَتْبَعُ الرُّوحَ وَقُولُوا خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تُؤَمِّنُ عَلَى دُعَاءِ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ
English Translation
Hadrat Shaddad ibn Aws (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "When you attend upon your dying ones, instruct them to say: 'La ilaha illallah (There is no deity except Allah),' and let the last thing they hear be that, for indeed, whoever's last words are 'La ilaha illallah' at the time of death will enter Paradise one day, even if what befalls him before that befalls him."
Urdu Translation
حضرت شداد بن اوس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «جب تم اپنے مرنے والوں کے پاس حاضر ہو تو انہیں لا إلہ إلا اللہ کی تلقین کرو اور آخری چیز جو وہ سنیں وہ یہی ہو، کیونکہ جس کا آخری کلام موت کے وقت لا إلہ إلا اللہ ہو وہ ایک دن جنت میں داخل ہوگا چاہے اس سے پہلے جو بھی ہو۔»
