حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، وَوَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّيْلِ، فَقَالَتْ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" يُصَلِّي ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً، يُصَلِّي ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ يُوتِرُ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ، فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ، قَامَ فَرَكَعَ، وَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ النِّدَاءِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ "
English Translation
Abu Salamah narrated: I asked Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) about the night prayer of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). She said: The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to pray thirteen rak'ahs — he would pray eight rak'ahs, then perform Witr, then pray two rak'ahs while seated. When he wished to bow (for ruku'), he would stand and bow. He would also pray two rak'ahs between the adhan and iqamah of Fajr.
Urdu Translation
ابو سلمہ نے بیان کیا: میں نے اُمّ المؤمنین حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی رات کی نماز کے بارے میں پوچھا۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تیرہ رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے — آٹھ رکعتیں پڑھتے پھر وتر پڑھتے، پھر بیٹھ کر دو رکعتیں پڑھتے۔ جب رکوع کرنا چاہتے تو کھڑے ہو کر رکوع کرتے۔ اور فجر کی اذان اور اقامت کے درمیان دو رکعتیں پڑھتے۔
