أَخْبَرَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ يُقَالُ :" لَا يَقْرَأُ الْجُنُبُ، وَلَا الْحَائِضُ، وَلَا يُقْرَأُ فِي الْحَمَّامِ، وَحَالَانِ لَا يَذْكُرُ الْعَبْدُ فِيهِمَا اللَّهَ : عِنْدَ الْخَلَاءِ، وَعِنْدَ الْجِمَاعِ، إِلَّا أَنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا أَتَى أَهْلَهُ، بَدَأَ فَسَمَّى اللَّهَ "
English Translation
Abu Wa'il said: It used to be said: "A person in a state of janabah should not recite, nor a menstruating woman, nor should one recite in the bathhouse. And there are two situations in which a servant should not remember Allah: while relieving oneself and during intercourse — except that when a man approaches his wife, he begins by saying Bismillah."
Urdu Translation
ابو وائل نے کہا: کہا جاتا تھا: جنبی قرآن نہ پڑھے، نہ حائضہ عورت، اور نہ حمام میں پڑھا جائے۔ اور دو حالتیں ہیں جن میں بندہ اللہ کا ذکر نہ کرے: قضائے حاجت کے وقت اور جماع کے وقت — سوائے اس کے کہ جب آدمی اپنی بیوی کے پاس جائے تو بسم اللہ سے شروع کرے۔
