أَخْبَرَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ :" جَالَسْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سَنَةً، فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يَذْكُرُ حَدِيثًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "
English Translation
Hadrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy upon him) said: 'I sat with Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) for a year and did not hear him mention a single hadith from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).'
Urdu Translation
حضرت شعبی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ نے فرمایا: میں حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کے ساتھ ایک سال بیٹھا اور انہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے ایک بھی حدیث بیان کرتے نہیں سنا۔
