أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ : يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ الْمِنْبَرَ، فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ وَتَحَوَّلَ إِلَيْهِ، حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ، فَاحْتَضَنَهُ، فَسَكَنَ "، وَقَالَ :" لَوْ لَمْ أَحْتَضِنْهُ، لَحَنَّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ "، أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، بِمِثْلِهِ
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to deliver sermons leaning against a trunk before he had the pulpit made. When the pulpit was made and he moved to it, the trunk moaned with longing. He embraced it and it became silent. He stated: 'Had I not embraced it, it would have continued moaning until the Day of Resurrection.' It was also narrated by Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) with a similar account.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم منبر بنوانے سے پہلے ایک تنے کے ساتھ ٹیک لگا کر خطبہ دیا کرتے تھے۔ جب منبر بنایا گیا اور آپ اس کی طرف منتقل ہوئے تو تنا رونے لگا۔ آپ نے اسے گلے سے لگایا تو وہ خاموش ہو گیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اگر میں اسے گلے نہ لگاتا تو یہ قیامت تک روتا رہتا۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے بھی اسی طرح مروی ہے۔
