Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: When we were forbidden from initiating questions to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), it would please us when a Bedouin of sound intellect would come and ask him while we listened. Once a Bedouin came and knelt before the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: 'O Muhammad, your messenger came to us and claimed that you claim Allah has sent you.' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'He spoke the truth.' The man said: 'By the One who raised the sky, spread the earth and set up the mountains — did Allah send you?' He stated: 'Yes.' The man said: 'Your messenger claimed that you claim five prayers are obligatory upon us in the day and night.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' The man said: 'By the One who sent you — did Allah command you with this?' He stated: 'Yes.' The man said: 'Your messenger claimed that you claim fasting one month per year is obligatory upon us.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' The man said: 'By the One who sent you — did Allah command you with this?' He stated: 'Yes.' The man said: 'Your messenger claimed that you claim Zakat is due from our wealth.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' The man said: 'By the One who sent you — did Allah command you with this?' He stated: 'Yes.' The man said: 'Your messenger claimed that you claim Hajj to the Sacred House is obligatory upon those who can afford the journey.' He stated: 'He spoke the truth.' The man said: 'By the One who sent you — did Allah command you with this?' He stated: 'Yes.' The Bedouin then said: 'By the One who sent you with the truth, I shall neither leave any of these nor exceed them.' Then the Bedouin leapt up and departed. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'If this Bedouin has spoken the truth, he shall enter Paradise.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: جب ہمیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے از خود سوال کرنے سے منع کر دیا گیا تو ہمیں اس بات کی خوشی ہوتی تھی کہ کوئی سمجھدار بدوی آئے اور آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے سوال کرے اور ہم سنیں۔ ایک مرتبہ ایک بدوی آیا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے سامنے گھٹنوں کے بل بیٹھ گیا اور کہا: اے محمد! آپ کا قاصد ہمارے پاس آیا اور اس نے بتایا کہ آپ کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ نے آپ کو بھیجا ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اس نے سچ کہا۔ اس نے کہا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آسمان بلند کیا، زمین بچھائی اور پہاڑ کھڑے کیے — کیا اللہ نے آپ کو بھیجا ہے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں۔ اس نے کہا: آپ کے قاصد نے بتایا کہ آپ کہتے ہیں ہم پر دن رات میں پانچ نمازیں فرض ہیں۔ ارشاد فرمایا: اس نے سچ کہا۔ اس نے کہا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو بھیجا — کیا اللہ نے آپ کو اس کا حکم دیا؟ ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں۔ اس نے کہا: آپ کے قاصد نے بتایا کہ آپ کہتے ہیں ہم پر سال میں ایک مہینے کا روزہ فرض ہے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: اس نے سچ کہا۔ اس نے کہا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو بھیجا — کیا اللہ نے آپ کو اس کا حکم دیا؟ ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں۔ اس نے کہا: آپ کے قاصد نے بتایا کہ آپ کہتے ہیں ہمارے مالوں میں زکوٰۃ فرض ہے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: اس نے سچ کہا۔ اس نے کہا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو بھیجا — کیا اللہ نے آپ کو اس کا حکم دیا؟ ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں۔ اس نے کہا: آپ کے قاصد نے بتایا کہ آپ کہتے ہیں جو استطاعت رکھے اس پر بیت اللہ کا حج فرض ہے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: اس نے سچ کہا۔ اس نے کہا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو بھیجا — کیا اللہ نے آپ کو اس کا حکم دیا؟ ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں۔ بدوی نے کہا: اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا، میں ان میں سے کسی کو نہ چھوڑوں گا اور نہ ان سے زیادہ کروں گا۔ پھر بدوی اٹھ کر چلا گیا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اگر اس بدوی نے سچ کہا تو وہ جنت میں داخل ہوگا۔
