Arabic (Original)
عَنِ اِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ -رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا- قَالَ: قَدِمَ اَلنَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -اَلْمَدِينَةَ, وَهُمْ يُسْلِفُونَ فِي اَلثِّمَارِ اَلسَّنَةَ وَالسَّنَتَيْنِ, فَقَالَ: { مَنْ أَسْلَفَ فِي تَمْرٍ فَلْيُسْلِفْ فِي كَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ, وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ, إِلَى أَجَلٍ مَعْلُومٍ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه البخاري ( 2239 )، ومسلم ( 1604 )، واللفظ لمسلم.
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came to al-Madinah, they were paying one and two years in advance for fruits. So he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: "Those who paid in advance for fruits must do so for a specified measurement and weight, and for a specified time." .
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مدینہ منورہ تشریف لائے تو لوگ پھلوں میں ایک دو سال کے لیے سلف (پیشگی خریداری) کرتے تھے۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: جو شخص کھجور میں سلف کرے تو مقررہ ناپ، مقررہ وزن اور مقررہ مدت تک کرے۔ متفق علیہ۔
