English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: "The truly needy person (Miskin) is not the one who goes around asking people for a morsel or two, or a date or two. Rather, the truly needy person is the one who does not have enough wealth, is too modest to beg, and does not importune people."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”مسکین وہ شخص نہیں ہے جس کو لوگ ایک لقمہ یا دو لقمہ یا ایک کھجور یا دو کھجور دے دیں (یعنی ایک ایک لقمہ اور دو دو لقمہ لوگوں سے مانگ کر اپنا پیٹ بھرے) بلکہ مسکین وہ شخص ہے جسے غنا (حاصل) نہ ہو اور وہ شرم کرتا ہو اور لوگوں سے چمٹ کر سوال نہ کرتا ہو۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 753]
