English Translation
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was asked about the Prophet's (peace be upon him) night prayer. She said: He used to sleep during the first part of the night and then rise to pray during the latter part. After praying, he would return to his bed. When the mu'adhdhin called the Adhan, he would get up. If he needed to, he would take a bath; otherwise, he would perform wudu and go out.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا گیا کہرات کو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی نماز کس طرح ہوتی تھی؟ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمشروع رات میں سوتے تھے اور اخیر رات میں اٹھ کر نماز پڑھتے تھے۔ نماز کے بعد پھر اپنے بستر کی طرف لوٹ آتے تھے پھر جب مؤذن اذان دیتا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماٹھتے پس اگر آپ کو ضرورت ہوتی تو غسل کرتے ورنہ وضو کر کے باہر تشریف لے جاتے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 607]
