English Translation
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that when he was told that Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) had led them in four rak'ahs at Mina, he said: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (To Allah we belong and to Him we return)." Then he said: "I prayed two rak'ahs with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) at Mina, two rak'ahs with Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) at Mina, and two rak'ahs with Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) at Mina. Would that instead of those four rak'ahs, I had two accepted rak'ahs (as the Prophet, Abu Bakr, and Umar used to pray)."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہجب ان سے کہا گیا کہ امیرالمؤمنین عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ نے منیٰ میں ہم لوگوں کو چار رکعت نماز پڑھائی تو انہوں نے کہا کہ ((انا للہ وانا الیہ راجعون)) پھر انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ہمراہ منیٰ میں دو رکعتیں پڑھیں اور امیرالمؤمنین سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ کے ہمراہ منیٰ میں دو رکعتیں پڑھیں اور امیرالمؤمنین عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ منیٰ میں دو رکعتیں پڑھیں۔ اے کاش! بجائے ان چار رکعتوں کے میرے حصے میں وہی دو مقبول رکعتیں آتیں۔ (جو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور امیرالمؤمنین ابوبکر و عمر رضی اللہ عنہما پڑھا کرتے تھے)۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 579]
