English Translation
Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' al-Zuraqi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "One day we were praying behind the Prophet (peace be upon him), and when he raised his head from ruku' and said 'Sami' Allahu liman hamidah,' a man behind him said: 'Rabbana wa lakal-hamd, hamdan kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fih' (Our Lord, to You belongs all praise — abundant, pure, and blessed praise). When the Prophet (peace be upon him) finished, he asked: 'Who said that?' The man said: 'I did.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'I saw more than thirty angels competing to write it down first.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا رفاعہ بن رافع زرقی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم ایک دن نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پیچھے نماز پڑھ رہے تھے تو (ہم نے دیکھا کہ) جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنا سر رکوع سے اٹھایا تو فرمایا سمع اللہ لمن حمدہ تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پیچھے ایک شخص نے کہا ((ربّنا ولک الحمد حمدا کثیرا طیبا مبارکا فیہ)) تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے جب فارغ ہوئے تو فرمایا:”بولنے والا کون تھا؟“اس شخص نے کہا کہ میں تھا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”میں نے تیس سے کچھ زیادہ فرشتوں کو دیکھا کہ وہ اس پر باہم سبقت کرتے تھے کہ ان میں کون اس کو پہلے لکھ لے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 460]
