English Translation
Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) repeated the adhan along with the mu'adhdhin up to "Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah." When the mu'adhdhin said "Hayya 'ala as-salah," Mu'awiyah said: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah)." He said: "I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying the same."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ نےاذان کے جواب میں اشھد انّ محمّدًا رسول اﷲ تک اذان کی طرح کہا اور جب (مؤذن نے) حیّ علی الصّلاۃ کہا تو انھوں نے لا حول ولا قوّۃ الاّ باﷲ کہا اور کہا کہ میں نے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اسی طرح کہتے ہوئے سنا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 376]
