English Translation
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Allah the Exalted will not take away knowledge after having given it (by removing it from people's breasts), but rather He will take it away by taking away the scholars along with their knowledge. Then ignorant people will be consulted for religious verdicts, and they will give verdicts merely by their own opinion, thereby going astray themselves and leading others astray as well."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، فرماتے تھے:”اللہ تعالیٰ تم سے علم کو دینے کے بعد نہ اٹھائے گا مگر ہاں اس طرح اٹھائے گا کہ علماء کو مع علم (علم سمیت) کے اٹھالے گا، تب جاہل لوگوں سے فتویٰ لیا جائے گا اور وہ محض اپنی رائے سے فتویٰ دے کر خود بھی گمراہ ہوں گے اور دوسروں کو بھی گمراہ کریں گے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2215]
