English Translation
Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): Once the Prophet (peace be upon him) was delivering a sermon when, seeing a man standing, he (peace be upon him) asked: "Who is this man?" The people said, "This is Abu Israil; he has made a vow to remain standing (all day) and not to sit, nor to come into the shade, nor to speak to anyone, but rather to complete a fast (in this state)." So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Tell him to sit down, and to come into the shade, and to speak, and to complete his fast (in the normal way)."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہایک دفعہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمخطبہ ارشاد فرما رہے تھے کہ ایک شخص کو کھڑے ہوئے دیکھ کر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دریافت فرمایا:”یہ کون شخص ہے؟“لوگوں نے بتایا کہ یہ ابواسرائیل ہے، اس نذر مانی ہے کہ (دن بھر) کھڑا رہے گا بیٹھے گا نہیں اور نہ سایہ میں آئے گا اور نہ (کسی سے) بات کرے گا بلکہ (اسی حالت میں) روزہ پورا کرے گا تو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اس سے کہہ دو کہ بیٹھ جائے اور سایہ میں آ جائے اور بات چیت کرے اور (اسی طرح سے) روزہ پورا کرے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2150]
