English Translation
Narrated Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delivered to us (one day) a sermon and mentioned everything that would happen up until the Day of Resurrection. Whoever was to remember it remembered it, and whoever was to forget it forgot it. And any matter that I have forgotten, when I see it, I recognize it the way a man recognizes another whose face was absent from him and then, when he sees him, he recognizes him.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (ایک روز) ہم کو خطبہ سنایا اور قیامت تک جو باتیں ہونے والی ہیں سب کا ذکر فرمایا۔ جس کو یاد رکھنا تھا اس نے ان کو یاد رکھا اور جس نے بھولنا تھا وہ بھول گیا اور میں جس بات کو بھول گیا ہوں اس کو دیکھ کر اس طرح پہچان لیتا ہوں جس طرح کسی کا آدمی غائب ہو جائے پھر جب وہ اس کو دیکھے تو پہچان لیتا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2138]
