English Translation
It is narrated from Thabit ibn al-Dahhak (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever swore by a religion other than Islam (i.e., swore deliberately to become a disbeliever) is as (a follower of that religion) just as he has sworn. And it is not (binding) upon the son of Adam to fulfill a vow concerning something not within his power. And whoever killed himself with something in this world will be punished with that same thing on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever cursed a believer, (its sin) is equal to killing him. And whoever called a believer a disbeliever, this too is equal to killing him."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ثابت بن ضحاک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”جس نے اسلام کے سوا کسی دوسری ملت کی قسم کھائی (یعنی جان بوجھ کر کافر ہو جانے کی قسم کھائی) پس وہ ویسے ہی (مذہب والا) ہے جیسے کہ اس نے قسم کھائی اور ابن آدم پر اس نذر کا پورا کرنا (لازم) نہیں ہے جو اس کے اختیار میں نہ ہو اور جس نے دنیا میں کسی چیز کے ساتھ خودکشی کر لی تو وہ قیامت میں اسی کے ساتھ عذاب دیا جائے گا اور جس نے مومن پر لعنت کی تو (اس کا گناہ) اس کے قتل کے برابر ہے اور جس نے مومن کو کافر کہا تو یہ بھی اس کے قتل کے برابر ہے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2031]
