English Translation
Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): (One day) we were sitting with the Prophet (peace be upon him) when Surah al-Jumu'ah was revealed. When this verse was revealed, "And others among them who have not yet joined them ...," I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Who are these people?" He (peace be upon him) gave no answer, until I had asked three times; and Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) was also present among us. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) placed his blessed hand on his head and said, "If faith were near the Pleiades (the stars) (that is, if it were very far away), even then a man or some people (the narrator's doubt) from among these (people of Persia) would attain it."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ(ایک روز) ہم نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس بیٹھے تھے کہ سورۃ الجمعہ اتری، جب یہ آیت”اور دوسروں کے لیے بھی ہے جو ابھی ان سے نہیں ملے .... ‘ نازل ہوئی تو میں نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! یہ کون لوگ ہیں؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کچھ جواب نہ دیا، یہاں تک کہ میں نے تین مرتبہ پوچھا اور ہمارے درمیان سیدنا سلمان فارسی رضی اللہ عنہ بھی موجود تھے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماپنا ہاتھ مبارک ان کے سر پر رکھا اور فرمایا:”اگر ایمان ثریا (ستارے) کے پاس بھی ہوتا (یعنی بہت ہی دور ہوتا) تو بھی ان (اہل فارس) میں سے ایک شخص یا کچھ لوگ (راوی کا شک) اس کو حاصل کر لیتے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1789]
