English Translation
Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The Children of Israel were commanded: 'Enter the gate prostrating and say hittah (seeking forgiveness).' But they entered crawling on their buttocks and instead of saying hittah, they said hintah, habbatun fi sha'rah (a grain in a husk)."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”بنی اسرائیل کو یہ حکم دیا گیا تھا”اور شہر کے دروازے میں جھک کر سجدہ کرتے ہوئے داخل ہوں اور زبان سے حطّۃ کہو“(یعنی گناہوں کی مغفرت چاہتے ہیں) تو وہ گھسٹ گھسٹ کر اور بجائے حطّۃ کے حنطۃ، حبّہ فی شعرۃٍ (دانہ بالی کے اندر) کہتے ہوئے داخل ہوئے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1715]
