English Translation
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated the events of the night of Isra' (the Night Journey), when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was taken from al-Masjid al-Haram. Before revelation came to him, three angels came while he was sleeping in al-Masjid al-Haram, between Ja'far ibn Abi Talib and Hamzah. They said among themselves: "Which one is he?" They were told: "He is the best of them." So one of them took him, opened his chest, washed it with Zamzam water, and filled his heart with faith and wisdom. Then a Buraq was brought—a white animal, smaller than a mule and larger than a donkey—and he was carried to Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). He tied the Buraq at the ring where the Prophets used to tie theirs. He entered, prayed two rak'ahs, and then was taken up to the heavens, where he met the Prophets: Adam in the first heaven, Isa and Yahya in the second, Yusuf in the third, Idris in the fourth, Harun in the fifth, Musa in the sixth, and Ibrahim in the seventh heaven. Then he was taken to Sidrat al-Muntaha and the five daily prayers were ordained.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہاس رات (شب معراج) کا، جب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو مسجد کعبہ سے لے جایا گیا، قصہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمپر وحی نازل ہونے سے پہلے تین فرشتے آئے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس وقت مسجدالحرام میں (سیدنا جعفر بن ابی طالب اور سیدنا حمزہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے درمیان) سو رہے تھے۔ ان (فرشتوں) میں سے ایک نے کہا کہ ان میں سے وہ کون ہے (جسے لے جانے کا حکم ہوا ہے)؟ دوسرے نے کہا کہ وہ (درمیان والا) ان میں سے بہتر ہے۔ تیسرے نے کہا جو ان سب میں بہتر ہے، اسی کو لے چلو۔ اس رات اتنا ہی ہوا اور اس کے بعد آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے انھیں دوسری رات کو دیکھا جیسے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمدل سے دیکھا کرتے تھے اور نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی آنکھیں سوتی تھیں لیکن دل نہیں سوتا تھا اور سب پیغمبروں کا یہی حال ہے کہ ان کی آنکھیں سوتی ہیں اور دل نہیں سوتا۔ پس جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اپنے ساتھ لیا پھر آسمان پر چڑھا لے گئے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1499]
