English Translation
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) had not slept during a journey, and when he reached Madinah, drowsiness overcame him. He said: "Would that a righteous man from my Companions guard me tonight." Just then we heard the sound of weapons. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Who is that?" It was Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "What brought you here?" He replied: "I feared for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), so I came to guard you." The Prophet (peace be upon him) then prayed for him and went to sleep.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم(کسی سفر میں ایک رات کو) سوئے نہ تھے، لہٰذا جب مدینہ پہنچے تو (نیند غالب تھی)۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”کاش! میرے نیک اصحاب میں کوئی آج کی شب میرا پہرہ دے۔“اتنے میں اچانک ہم نے ہتھیار کی آواز سنی۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”کون ہے؟“اس نے جواب دیا کہ سعد بن ابی وقاص، میں اس لیے آیا ہوں کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس پہرہ دوں۔ پھر نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسو گئے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1246]
