حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ جَاءَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ يَشْكُو فَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " اتَّقِ اللَّهَ، وَأَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ ". قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لَوْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَاتِمًا شَيْئًا لَكَتَمَ هَذِهِ. قَالَ فَكَانَتْ زَيْنَبُ تَفْخَرُ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم تَقُولُ زَوَّجَكُنَّ أَهَالِيكُنَّ، وَزَوَّجَنِي اللَّهُ تَعَالَى مِنْ فَوْقِ سَبْعِ سَمَوَاتٍ. وَعَنْ ثَابِتٍ {وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَ} نَزَلَتْ فِي شَأْنِ زَيْنَبَ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ.
English Translation
Ahmad narrated to us, he said Muhammad bin Abi Bakr al-Muqaddami narrated to us, he said Hammad bin Zayd narrated to us, from Thabit, from Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: Hadrat Zayd bin Harithah (may Allah be well pleased with him) came to complain (about his wife), and the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) kept saying: "Fear Allah and keep your wife with you." Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat A'ishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said: "Had the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) been one to conceal anything, he would have concealed this verse (but he disclosed every command of divine revelation)." The narrator said: Then Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Zaynab (bint Jahsh) (may Allah be well pleased with her) would take pride over the other pure wives of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and would say: "Your marriages were arranged by your families, but my marriage was arranged by Allah the Exalted from above the seven heavens." And from Thabit: the verse 'And you conceal in yourself what Allah is about to reveal, and you apprehend the people' (al-Ahzab 33:37) was revealed regarding Hadrat Zaynab and Hadrat Zayd bin Harithah (may Allah be well pleased with them both).
Urdu Translation
ہم سے احمد نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے محمد بن ابی بکر المقدّمی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے حماد بن زید نے بیان کیا، ان سے ثابت نے اور ان سے حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بیان کیا: حضرت زید بن حارثہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ (اپنی زوجہ کی) شکایت لے کر آئے تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم فرماتے رہے: "اللہ سے ڈرو اور اپنی بیوی کو اپنے پاس رکھو۔" حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے فرمایا: اگر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کوئی بات چھپانے والے ہوتے تو یہ آیت چھپاتے (لیکن آپ نے وحیِ الٰہی کا ہر حکم ظاہر فرمایا)۔ راوی نے کہا: پھر اُمّ المؤمنین حضرت زینب (بنت جحش) رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی دیگر ازواجِ مطہرات پر فخر فرماتی تھیں اور کہتی تھیں: تمہارا نکاح تمہارے گھر والوں نے کرایا اور میرا نکاح اللہ تعالیٰ نے سات آسمانوں کے اوپر سے فرمایا۔ اور ثابت سے روایت ہے کہ آیت «وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَ» (اور آپ اپنے دل میں وہ بات چھپاتے ہیں جسے اللہ ظاہر فرمانے والا ہے اور آپ لوگوں سے اندیشہ رکھتے ہیں) حضرت زینب اور حضرت زید بن حارثہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کے بارے میں نازل ہوئی۔
