Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ قِرَاءَةُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم. فَقَالَ كَانَتْ مَدًّا. ثُمَّ قَرَأَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ، يَمُدُّ بِبِسْمِ اللَّهِ، وَيَمُدُّ بِالرَّحْمَنِ، وَيَمُدُّ بِالرَّحِيمِ.
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Qatada that Hadrat Anas was asked, "How was the recitation (of the Qur'an) of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)?' He replied, "It was characterized by the prolongation of certain sounds." He then recited: In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful prolonging the pronunciation of 'In the Name of Allah, 'the most Beneficent,' and 'the Most Merciful
Urdu Translation
ہم سے عمرو بن عاصم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہمام نے بیان کیا، ان سے قتادہ نے کہ انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے پوچھا گیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی قرآت کیسی تھی؟ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ مد کے ساتھ۔ پھر آپ نے «بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم» پڑھا اور کہا کہ «بسم الله» ( میں اللہ کی لام ) کو مد کے ساتھ پڑھتے «الرحمن» ( میں میم ) کو مد کے ساتھ پڑھتے اور «الرحيم.» ( میں حاء کو ) مد کے ساتھ پڑھتے۔
