Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، أَنَّ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ وَسَّاجٍ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ، خَادِمِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَلَيْسَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ أَشْمَطُ غَيْرَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَغَلَفَهَا بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ.
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) that (the servant of the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ) When the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) arrived (at Medina), there was not a single companion of the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who had grey and black hair except Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him), and he dyed his hair with Henna' and Katam (i.e. plants used for dying hair)
Urdu Translation
ہم سے سلیمان بن عبدالرحمٰن نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے محمد بن حمیر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابراہیم بن ابی عبلہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عقبہ بن وساج نے بیان کیا اور ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے خادم حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ( مدینہ منورہ ) تشریف لائے تو حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے سوا اور کوئی آپ کے اصحاب میں ایسا نہیں تھا جس کے بال سفید ہو رہے ہوں، اس لیے آپ نے مہندی اور وسمہ کا خضاب استعمال کیا تھا۔
