Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ، تَعَالَى {فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى * فَأَوْحَى إِلَى عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَى}. قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّهُ رَأَى جِبْرِيلَ لَهُ سِتُّمِائَةِ جَنَاحٍ.
English Translation
It is narrated from Abu Ishaq al-Shaibani that he said: I asked Zirr bin Hubaish about the Statement of Allah: 'And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or nearer; so (Allah) revealed to His servant what He revealed.' (53:9-10) He said: Hadrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him) informed us that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saw Jibril (upon him be peace) (in his original form) having six hundred wings.
Urdu Translation
حضرت زِرّ بن حبیش سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے ابواسحاق شیبانی سے اللہ تعالیٰ کے ارشاد «فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَىٰ» کے بارے میں پوچھا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: حضرت ابن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ہمیں بتایا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے جبرائیل علیہ السلام کو (ان کی اصلی صورت میں) دیکھا — ان کے چھ سو بازو تھے۔
