حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " أَخَذَ الرَّايَةَ زَيْدٌ فَأُصِيبَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا جَعْفَرٌ فَأُصِيبَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ فَأُصِيبَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ غَيْرِ إِمْرَةٍ فَفُتِحَ عَلَيْهِ، وَمَا يَسُرُّنِي ـ أَوْ قَالَ مَا يَسُرُّهُمْ ـ أَنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا ". وَقَالَ وَإِنَّ عَيْنَيْهِ لَتَذْرِفَانِ.
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) who states: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) delivered a sermon and declared: "(In the Battle of Mu'ta) Hadrat Zayd (may Allah be well pleased with him) took the banner and was martyred. Then Ja'far (may Allah be well pleased with him) took it and was martyred. Then Abdullah bin Rawaha (may Allah be well pleased with him) took it and was martyred. Then Khalid bin al-Walid (may Allah be well pleased with him) took the banner without being appointed, and victory was granted through his hands. And I would not wish — or he said: they would not wish — that they be with us (in this world)." He states: His blessed eyes were shedding tears.
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے خطبہ دیا اور ارشاد فرمایا: "(غزوۂ موتہ میں) زید (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) نے جھنڈا لیا تو وہ شہید ہوئے، پھر جعفر (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) نے لیا تو وہ شہید ہوئے، پھر عبداللہ بن رواحہ (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) نے لیا تو وہ شہید ہوئے، پھر خالد بن ولید (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) نے بغیر تقرری کے جھنڈا لیا تو ان کے ہاتھ پر فتح ہوئی۔ اور مجھے خوشی نہیں — یا فرمایا: انہیں خوشی نہیں — کہ وہ ہمارے پاس (دنیا میں) ہوں۔" فرماتے ہیں: آپ کی مبارک آنکھوں سے آنسو بہہ رہے تھے۔
