حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ لَمَّا اشْتَدَّ بِالنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَجَعُهُ قَالَ " ائْتُونِي بِكِتَابٍ أَكْتُبُ لَكُمْ كِتَابًا لاَ تَضِلُّوا بَعْدَهُ ". قَالَ عُمَرُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم غَلَبَهُ الْوَجَعُ وَعِنْدَنَا كِتَابُ اللَّهِ حَسْبُنَا فَاخْتَلَفُوا وَكَثُرَ اللَّغَطُ. قَالَ " قُومُوا عَنِّي، وَلاَ يَنْبَغِي عِنْدِي التَّنَازُعُ ". فَخَرَجَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الرَّزِيَّةَ كُلَّ الرَّزِيَّةِ مَا حَالَ بَيْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَبَيْنَ كِتَابِهِ.
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that when the illness of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) intensified, he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: Bring me writing materials so that I may write for you a document after which you will never go astray. Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) said to the people: The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is overcome by pain, and we have the Book of Allah which is sufficient for us. The people differed in their opinions and the commotion increased. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: Leave me, it is not befitting to dispute in my presence. Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) came out saying: Indeed, the greatest calamity is that which came between the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his writing.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے مرض میں شدت ہوگئی تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: میرے پاس لکھنے کا سامان لاؤ، میں تمہارے لیے ایک تحریر لکھ دوں جس کے بعد تم کبھی گمراہ نہ ہو۔ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے (لوگوں سے) فرمایا: اس وقت آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پر تکلیف کا غلبہ ہے اور ہمارے پاس اللہ کی کتاب موجود ہے جو ہمیں کافی ہے۔ اس پر لوگوں کی آراء مختلف ہوگئیں اور شور بڑھنے لگا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: میرے پاس سے اٹھ جاؤ، میرے سامنے جھگڑنا مناسب نہیں۔ حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما یہ فرماتے ہوئے باہر نکلے: بے شک سب سے بڑی مصیبت وہ ہے جو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور آپ کی تحریر کے درمیان حائل ہوگئی۔
