حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ مِنْ بَابٍ كَانَ نَحْوَ دَارِ الْقَضَاءِ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمٌ يَخْطُبُ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمًا ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَكَتِ الأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ يُغِيثُنَا فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا ". قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَلاَ وَاللَّهِ مَا نَرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ مِنْ سَحَابٍ، وَلاَ قَزَعَةً، وَمَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ سَلْعٍ مِنْ بَيْتٍ وَلاَ دَارٍ. قَالَ فَطَلَعَتْ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ سَحَابَةٌ مِثْلُ التُّرْسِ، فَلَمَّا تَوَسَّطَتِ السَّمَاءَ انْتَشَرَتْ ثُمَّ أَمْطَرَتْ، فَلاَ وَاللَّهِ مَا رَأَيْنَا الشَّمْسَ سِتًّا، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْبَابِ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمٌ يَخْطُبُ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ قَائِمًا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَكَتِ الأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ يُمْسِكْهَا عَنَّا. قَالَ فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلاَ عَلَيْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى الآكَامِ وَالظِّرَابِ وَبُطُونِ الأَوْدِيَةِ وَمَنَابِتِ الشَّجَرِ ". قَالَ فَأَقْلَعَتْ وَخَرَجْنَا نَمْشِي فِي الشَّمْسِ. قَالَ شَرِيكٌ سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ أَهُوَ الرَّجُلُ الأَوَّلُ فَقَالَ مَا أَدْرِي.
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) that a man entered the Mosque on a Friday through the gate near the Dar al-Qada while the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was standing and delivering the Khutba. The man stood facing the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! The livestock are perishing and the roads are cut off; please pray to Allah to grant us rain.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) raised his blessed hands and prayed: 'O Allah! Grant us rain! O Allah! Grant us rain! O Allah! Grant us rain!' Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: By Allah, there was not a trace of cloud in the sky, and there was no building between us and the mountain of Sal'. Then from behind it a cloud appeared like a shield, and when it reached the middle of the sky it spread and it began to rain. By Allah! We did not see the sun for a week. Then the following Friday, a man entered through the same gate while the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was delivering the Friday Khutba. He stood and submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! The livestock are being destroyed and the roads are cut off; please pray to Allah to withhold the rain from us.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) raised his blessed hands and prayed: 'O Allah! Around us and not upon us. O Allah! Upon the hillocks, the elevated lands, the depths of the valleys and the places where trees grow.' The rain ceased and we went out walking in the sunshine. Sharik said: I asked Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) whether it was the same man. He replied: I do not know.

حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص جمعہ کے دن مسجد میں دار القضاء کے قریب والے دروازے سے داخل ہوا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کھڑے خطبہ ارشاد فرما رہے تھے۔ اس نے کھڑے ہو کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! جانور ہلاک ہو رہے ہیں اور راستے بند ہو گئے ہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا فرمائیں کہ ہمیں سیراب کرے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے دونوں دست مبارک اٹھائے اور دعا فرمائی: اے اللہ! ہمیں سیراب فرما، اے اللہ! ہمیں سیراب فرما، اے اللہ! ہمیں سیراب فرما۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: اللہ کی قسم! آسمان پر بادل کا نشان تک نہ تھا اور ہمارے اور سلع پہاڑ کے درمیان کوئی مکان نہ تھا۔ پھر پہاڑ کے پیچھے سے ڈھال جیسا بادل نمودار ہوا اور بیچ آسمان تک پہنچ کر پھیل گیا اور برسنے لگا۔ اللہ کی قسم! ہم نے ایک ہفتے تک سورج نہیں دیکھا۔ پھر اگلے جمعہ ایک شخص اسی دروازے سے آیا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کھڑے خطبہ ارشاد فرما رہے تھے۔ اس نے کھڑے ہو کر عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! جانور تباہ ہو رہے ہیں اور راستے بند ہو گئے ہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا فرمائیں کہ بارش روک دے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے دونوں دست مبارک اٹھائے اور دعا فرمائی: اے اللہ! ہمارے اردگرد برسا، ہم پر نہ برسا۔ اے اللہ! ٹیلوں، پہاڑیوں، وادیوں کی تہوں اور درختوں کی جگہوں پر برسا۔ بارش بند ہو گئی اور ہم دھوپ میں باہر نکلے۔ شریک نے کہا میں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے پوچھا کیا یہ پہلا ہی شخص تھا؟ فرمایا: مجھے معلوم نہیں۔
