حَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّد بن عبد الرحيم ومُحَمَّد بن سفيان الأيلي قال حَدَّثَنا الحَسَن بن بشر حَدَّثَنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ قَتَادةَ عَنِ مُحَمَّد عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إن جهنم استأذنت ربها أن تنفس في كل سنة مرتين فشدة الحر من فيحها وشدة البرد من زمهريرهاوَهَذَا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ قَتَادةَ إلا الحكم بن عبد الملك عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إن جهنم استأذنت ربها أن تنفس في كل سنة مرتين فشدة الحر من فيحها وشدة البرد من زمهريرهاوَهَذَا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ قَتَادةَ إلا الحكم بن عبد الملك
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahim and Muhammad ibn Sufyan al-Ayli narrated to us, he said: al-Hasan ibn Bishr narrated to us, al-Hakam ibn Abd al-Malik narrated to us from Qatada from Muhammad from Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Indeed, Hellfire sought permission from its Lord to breathe twice every year. So the intensity of heat is from its blast, and the intensity of cold is from its bitter cold." And this hadith - we know of no one who narrated it from Qatada except al-Hakam ibn Abd al-Malik.
