حَدَّثَنا عبدة بن عبد الله وأَحْمَد بن مَنْصُور قالا حَدَّثَنا يزيد بن هارون أَخْبَرنَا البراء بن يزيد قال حدثني عبد الله بن شقيق عن أبي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ رفعه قال ألا أخبركم بأهل الجنة الضعفاء المظلومون ألا أنبئكم بأهل النار كل جعظري ألا أنبئكم بخياركم محاسنكم أخلاقا ألا أنبئكم بشراركم الثرثارون المتشدقون المتفيهقونوَهَذَا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمْهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِلا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ غير أبي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قال ألا أخبركم بأهل الجنة الضعفاء المظلومون ألا أنبئكم بأهل النار كل جعظري ألا أنبئكم بخياركم محاسنكم أخلاقا ألا أنبئكم بشراركم الثرثارون المتشدقون المتفيهقونوَهَذَا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمْهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِلا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ غير أبي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ
English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Nasr narrated to us, Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us from Thabit al-Bunani from Abu Uthman al-Nahdi from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: "There were two women with their two sons when the wolf came and snatched the son of one of them. Each one said to the other: It took your son. So they brought their dispute to Dawud [David] (peace be upon him), and he ruled in favor of the elder. Then they went to Sulayman [Solomon] (peace be upon him) and he said: Bring me a knife so I may cut him in half. The younger one said: Do not do it, may Allah have mercy on you — he is her son. So Sulayman ruled in her favor."
