وَبِهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أمر أن تذبح شاة فيقسمها بين الجيران قال فذبحتها فقسمتها بين الجيران ودفعت الذراع للنبي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وكان أحب الشاة إليه الذراع فلما جاء النبي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قالت عائشة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا ما بقي عندنا منها إلا الذراع قال كلها بقي إلا هذا يعني الذراع شاة فيقسمها بين الجيران قال فذبحتها فقسمتها بين الجيران ودفعت الذراع للنبي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وكان أحب الشاة إليه الذراع فلما جاء النبي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قالت عائشة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا ما بقي عندنا منها إلا الذراع قال كلها بقي إلا هذا يعني الذراع
English Translation
Ahmad ibn Mansur and Salamah ibn Shabib narrated to us, they said: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us from Hammam ibn Munabbih from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who stated: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: "The similitude of a miser and the one who gives charity is like that of two men wearing iron cloaks — from their chests to their collarbones. As for the one who gives charity, his cloak expands until it covers his fingertips and erases his traces. As for the miser, every ring clings to its place; he tries to expand it but it will not expand."
