حدثنا يوسف بن موسى حَدَّثَنا جرير عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لرجل ما تقول في الصلاة قال أتشهد وأذكر الله ثم أقول اللهم إني أسألك الجنة وأعوذ بك من النار أما والله ما أحسن دندنتك ولا دندنة معاذ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أنا ومعاذ حولهما ندندنوَهَذَا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عن أبي هريرة إلا جرير ورواه أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ مرسلا ولم يذكر أبا هريرة
English Translation
Yusuf ibn Musa narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who stated: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) asked a man: «What do you say in prayer?» He said: 'I recite the Tashahhud and remember Allah, then I say: O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and seek refuge with You from the Fire. By Allah, I do not master your eloquent recitation nor the eloquent recitation of Mu'adh.' The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «Around these two matters, Mu'adh and I make our supplications.» This hadith — we do not know that anyone narrated it from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah except Jarir. Abu Awanah narrated it from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih as mursal without mentioning Abu Hurairah.
