English Translation
Ahmad narrated to us, he said: al-Hasan narrated to us from Zuhayr from Ubaydullah from Sa'id from his father from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: «Do not sit on the paths.» They said: O Messenger of Allah, we have no alternative; they are our gathering places where we converse. He said: «If you must sit, then give the road its right.» They asked: What is the right of the road? He said: «Lowering the gaze, refraining from harm, returning the greeting, and enjoining good and forbidding evil.»
