English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Hammad narrated to us, he said: Abu Awanah narrated to us from Ya'la ibn Ata' from Abu Alqamah from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: A man came to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and prayed while the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was in the mosque. He then came and greeted him. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) returned his greeting and said: «Go back and pray, for you have not prayed.» He went back and prayed, then came to him and greeted him. He said: «Go back and pray, for you have not prayed.» This happened either two or three times. Then the man said: By the One Who sent you with the truth, I cannot do better than this, so teach me. He said: «When you stand for the prayer, say the takbir, then recite what is easy for you from the Qur'an. Then bow until you are at ease in bowing. Then rise until you are standing upright. Then prostrate until you are at ease in prostration. Then sit until you are at ease in sitting. Then do that throughout the entire prayer.»
